#64 Green logistics through e-cargo bikes? Beres Seelbach, ONOMOTION

A relaxed commute is rarely possible for conventional delivery vans. This is due to congested streets and the nerve-wracking search for parking in big cities. An alternative to combustion engines are electric bicycles, which offer an effortless commute with a positive environmental footprint.

E-bikes are not only a healthy and time-flexible means of transportation, but also very environmentally friendly. They are particularly attractive for delivery services aiming to stay fast and agile over longer distances. This inspired the idea behind the Berlin-based startup Onomotion: to rethink urban logistics with the help of electric cargo bikes, putting people at the center. The modular e-cargobike replaces delivery vans in the CEP sector (courier, express, and parcel services) and offers a solution for sustainable goods transport. A symbiotic blend of electric bicycle and car that brings the spirit of urban mobility to the streets.

“If all cars were electrified, we would indeed have better air quality in cities, but we would still face the same problems as with conventional cars. Electric cars take up just as much space in cities and cause traffic jams,” reflects Beres Seelbach, founder and CEO of Onomotion.

Key question today:

How are electric cargo bikes transforming urban delivery traffic, and what role do they play in creating climate-friendly urban living spaces?
